Well I have just finished my second week and I feel great. The scales have also been very kind to me and I have lost 2 kilos, woohoo! This is the longest I have gone without alcohol in many years, and I can’t believe how much better I feel! We all know that alcohol is a depressant, so why do we drink it when we’re already feeling low? That is a mystery to me, but now that I’m committed to being alcohol free, I will certainly look at other ways of feeling good. Right now though, I don’t need any chemical help as I’ve been exercising every day. It’s amazing how many excuses we come up with to not exercise: I look fat in gym clothes, I am too tired, I need to do housework, it’s cold/rainy/too hot outside….yadda yadda yadda. All EXCUSES! First Alcohol Free Friday night

Well, I have survived my first alcohol free Friday night. I cannot remember the last Friday night I didn’t crack open a bottle of wine. Like a lot of ladies in their 30′s I love my wine. Thinking back to when I was a healthy and fit 20 something, also 20 kilos lighter, I didn’t drink much back then. I think I got into the wine habit when I was a sales rep. I was taking clients out to dinner and/or some nights I was just down right bored and lonely and thought some wine ‘research’ would be fun. I have tried to lose weight for the past three years, but haven’t really gotten anywhere. My weight is like a yo yo, constantly up and down.
